"I promise to love you and honor you as my partner, lover, and friend. I promise to respect you as my lifelong helpmate in good times and in bad, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health. I vow to be your encouragement to get you through, your protector when the world is against you, and your uplifter when the journey is long and arduous. I promise to never give up, never abandon you or our marriage, and to never let the sun go down without mending broken fences. I vow to share your tears, rejoice in your happiness and to thank God for you and your love at least once a day. I promise you unconditional love, shelter from every storm and a warm lap to lay your weary head."
This past weekend we celebrated another year together (a couple days late). Granny and Nanny kept Makenzie while we had dinner for 2 and saw a movie. The time has really flown by--it seems like just yesterday we said our "I do's". Here's a short list of things we've seen/done/been through in our 3 short years of married life:
~got 2 pink lines just 3 short months after the honeymoon
~mourned the loss of both of our fathers, Tim's biological mother and Tim's biological grandmother
~bought a house
~2 fender benders in 1 year (that weren't my fault of course-college town, enough said)
~survived 38 weeks of pregnancy without killing each other
~had a beautiful baby girl
~handed our precious child over to a surgeon at 6 weeks old to remove a suspected neuroblastoma
~praised God when it was just a hemangioma
~found out Granny had breast cancer
~got into nursing school (again)
~turned down nursing school acceptance
~sold a house
~built a new house
~took new jobs
~quit those jobs
~took newer jobs
~survived a 3 day stay in the hospital and a shock to Tim's heart (on purpose)
~took a cruise
We've had good times and bad times, but we've had each other through all those times and I look forward to many more years with the man I love.
