Sick Day

Kenzie and I had a sick day today. She got sent home from daycare yesterday with a low grade fever and she promptly puked upon her homecoming (luckily I wasn't home yet - Daddy got to clean it up). After that she was happy as a clam except for an annoying dry cough all night long. So, since she can't go back to school for 24 hours following a fever (or puking for that matter), Mommy and Kenzie had a "sick day" today. These days are oh so fun, because she's just sick enough to be clingy and whiny, but well enough to want to play with all of her buddies and not understand why she can't go out and about.

So....what did we do today?

~read Dr. Seuss' "The Foot Book" about 5 times before 8:30a.m.
~colored
~played on the swingset
~changed teddy bear's clothes a bajillion times
~watched Oswald, Superwhy, Little Bill and Clifford
~took a nap
~played with playdough
~played with stickers (which means she stuck stickers to my arms and legs over and over again)
~played baby dolls

In between all of this, I probably said the word "no" at least 5,000 times and threatened spanking another 500 while hearing my name called in a REALLY whiny voice every 2 seconds for the entire 10 hour day. Don't get me wrong--I love my baby girl, but it's days like these that stay-at-home moms are my heroes and I actually miss the monotony of my job....

Just think if we lived in a double wide mobile home in the country and you got to do this everyday!
