August 2014

Stormie is getting so big! She is officially no longer eating baby food. She has enough toothies to eat real people food. She is walking everywhere and loves to say hi to the puppies through the back door. She has moved up to the "big kid" class at daycare too! I can't believe she'll be a year old next month!
I also cannot believe my baby girl Makenzie has started 3rd grade--where has the time gone? She is halfway to 16!

10 months old!

This has been the most fun month yet! You are Miss Personality and busy busy busy! You started walking about 5 steps at a time during the second week in July. You are loving playing Peek A Boo, blowing kisses and trying to say "hi" and "bye bye" now as you wave. You are so smart. You are into EVERYTHING. We never baby-proofed for Big Sis, but oh my...you open every cabinet and drawer you can get to and clean them out. Everything goes into your mouth--I have had to perform the Heimlech or back blows several times to get out everything from microscopic pieces of plastic to tiny pieces of dead leaves. Satisfying your curiosity and exploring are your favorite things to do. You had your second ear infection over July 4th weekend, along w/ a crazy swollen occipital lymph node that stuck around for over 3 weeks and totally freaked Mama out. We started you back on Ranitidine for reflux and you are sleeping better again. We are so happy that you are part of our family!

Surprise!

So we thought we were finished with making babies, but God had a surprise for us! In March, after returning from our Missouri trip, something just didn't feel right to me so I took a pregnancy test....never expecting a positive result! We were shocked, floored and scared to death to find out that we had baby #3 coming when we had just given birth 6 months ago!

Once we let it sink in, we were excited and began preparations. The first task was to clear out the playroom to make room for baby #3, so Makenzie had to downsize her queen sized bed and move toys to her room. Here is her big girl bed with new bedding--she was super excited!

We didn't repaint the playroom to make the nursery, we decided we liked the bright color. We bargain shopped and found a great deal on the furniture on Craigslist and then found the perfect bedding to match!

Months 8 and 9

These have been the most exciting months yet! You are crawling, cruising and sooo close to walking! You have 2 bottom teeth. I must say, you are not a good teether like Big Sis! You get all the classic symptoms.....fussiness, fever, sleeplessness, runny nose, diarrhea. Although you are still very tall, your growth has slowed a bit. At your 9 month check up, you were 22.12 pounds.

We made the trek to Midland to see Dani graduate highschool in May and you lived up to your reputation of being a terrible traveler. You certainly have a big personality. You charmed everyone at my company picnic--2 of the physicians carried you around most of the day and you loved the attention. You do not cope well with NOT getting ALL of the attention in a room, and you certainly let everyone know when you're unhappy!

7 months is a busy age!

April was a busy month of new things for Miss Stormie Grey! She started crawling and even progressed to pulling up on furniture. She is very clearly saying Mama, Dada, and Baba (bottle) and waving bye bye. It's so fun to see her discovering the world around her!

Makenzie turns 8!

6 months=1/2 a year!

Can't believe you've been with us half of a year already! Your personality is really coming to the surface now. I think you are gonna have quite the temper--between that and your size (21 lbs now), noone is gonna mess with you! You are laughing out loud and trying really hard to say Mama.
It took you forever, but you can finally roll over both ways now when you want to. So far, you choose not to most of the time! You can sit for even longer without assistance now too. You can move objects from one hand to the other and get them to your mouth successfully most of the time too. You have discovered your hand and you seem to be in awe when you watch it and turn it over and make a fist and almost wave--it's really funny to watch. You are eating baby food for breakfast, lunch and dinner now. You have a bottle around midnight and can sleep until 5-6am now. And you love your sister!!
