Well, this is actually my third Mother's Day to celebrate as a mommy--Makenzie was born right before Mother's Day in 2006. She made me a lovely popsicle stick picture frame at school with a precious picture of her in it. Daddy got me a really cool alarm clock that I had been eyeing at Bed, Bath and Beyond. It projects the time on the ceiling and plays nature sounds rather than the really loud, obnoxious beep to wake you in the mornings. My mom and grandmother got me a really cool egg-shaped pedicure thingy and a picture frame contraption to fill up with pictures of my most favorite short person.
Of course, we also made a trip to Lowe's today and bought a lawn mover, weed eater, edger and some other miscellaneous items that seem to fit more with Father's Day than Mother's Day, but oh well.
Tim did try to let me sleep in this morning, however a certain little short person kept opening the door every 5 minutes saying "Mommy?" We also had my mom and grandmother over for a nice, homecooked Sunday meal of pot roast, homemade mashed potatoes and fresh green beans and I made strawberry shortcake for dessert.
