First grader in the house!

Can't believe I have a first grader already. Time could not have gone faster and I wish it would just slow down!

She picked this funky little outfit to wear the first day.  Somehow I knew this would be her pick out of all the outfits I got her for school.

Golden Gator

Every 6 weeks, each kindergarten class at Makenzie's school chooses a boy and girl to be the "Golden Gator", which is basically the good citizen for that 6 weeks. Makenzie's been trying so hard all year to get chosen, and the last award went to her!

Mini vacay 2012

Well, this year Tim is the lucky one in school, so once again we fit a quick mini vacation in before summer school started. Memorial Day weekend, we rented a small condo on Lake Travis at this beautiful complex on its own island.  This was our view of the lake:

The place is a ways out of town and there were deer everywhere!

We didn't do much but relax, eat and swim...it was AWESOME!  One place we did drive a ways to go eat at the first night was The Oasis:

It is actually this awesome little complex of great restaurants and shops.  We ended up eating at Soleil which is a great seafood restaurant there.  We really had a fun time and look forward to going back some day!
